When I was younger I had boats and cars, but due to work and other tiresome things life puts in the way I didn’t have time for them. However now I have a bit more time to spare I decided to get them out again. .
I have several more boats in the loft I was given by a friend of my granddads called Mr Pope. One is a smaller day cruiser type thing, and the other a larger paddle steamer. This gentleman used to live across the road from my granddad and made not only the boats from scratch, but the steam engines to go with them. I am not talking about the simple mamod type engines, but proper miniature versions, with inner pipes and all the bits a proper life size steam boiler would have. Obviously in my few visits across the road when I stayed with them something rubber off, as I will always remember this guy and what he did.
