This is one of the first bits I have made for my new submarine. I wanted a grated deck area at the back, but I could only find grating in wood and repeatedly going in and out the water, wood wouldn't last too long.
To cure this I set about making some scale grating and cast it in resin. This way it would withstand going in and out the water indefinitely.

Obviously on its own it wouldn't look great, so using styrene I beam I set about making a frame to simulate a proper steel girder support frame that the grate will fit between.
When done a coat of paint and a bit of weathering and it will look ok.

This part is made in resin.
